A few weeks ago I had the chance to go to a concert by one of my favourites so far this year, Zola Jesus.
I really love Stridulum, her latest release, but apart from that I didn’t know much about her/her band…
They totally rocked! Their synth-heavy sound truly comes alive… live, thanks to the tribal drumming, it’s incredible. Even the slower songs blast through you with brute force! And she has such strong voice, and a larger than life presence, especially for such a tiny person. Awesome.
I’m totally obsessed with this new Beastie Boys song! Last.fm tells me I’ve listened to it 8 items since yesterday, but that doesn’t count the items I’ve played it on youtube :)! Easily their best new song in at least 15 years…
