So…

Our local gov., here in Quebec, is currently debating a new law, which in effect amounts to martial law, all to try and squash a student strike that’s been going for 3 months.

..And they’re blocking the regular process so that no actual debate can happen before the law goes in effect, destroying the separation of the Executive and the Legislative, and giving the Education minister rights to overturn any part of any other law if she thinks it’s gonna help kill the student strike. (among other, worst things).

Yay, Democracy.

*sigh*,… *sob*.

Montreal’s Musée d’Art Contemporain has its big collective exhibit running these days, and one of the awesome pieces being shown is this giant outdoors light installation, where 18 skylights are lit up every night, and are controllable by the public…

Here’s a short video I shot of it. The crazy part is that I live about 5 km away from the museum, so you can see that those lights are crazy bright!

The installation’s called Intersection articulée. Architecture relationnelle 18 and it was made by Rafael Lozano-Hemmer

Rico, by Raphaël Ouellet

Raphaël has this awesome portrait of Rico (aka Zombie Boy) printed at my work this week, and I loved it so much I had to post it here!

I might do a few other posts about some of the amazing artists we get to work with… So inspiring!

In fact earlier today we had some original Riopelle artwork coming in, and I have to admit, seeing those up close* felt pretty special.
